Description: The taxonomy of Howea forsteriana is not correct.
It is a plant! Not an insect!
Please check and fix it.
Thank you very much.
Regards.

Hi!
This issue is stopped.
What does happen with the taxonomy of Howea (plant) in GBIF backbone taxonomy? If there are two genera of Howea, one for plants and another one for insecta, the backbone taxonomy should to reflect it, doesn't it?
Thank you.

Hi [~herbariomgc], I agree this is wrong and our backbone does bad with palm species.
Its a very common plant: http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl1.1/record/kew-100448

The backbone palm family:
http://www.gbif.org/species/7681

We also have this known issue with many plant names: http://dev.gbif.org/issues/browse/POR-1389

If all goes well we will try to address many backbone issues over the next month, we had no resources in the last half year to do any improvements I am afraid
