Here are some records from the sea which have changed:
http://www.gbif.org/occurrence/search?TAXON_KEY=7&GEOMETRY=-172.4%20-19.2,-172.4%20-44.9,-106.8%20-44.9,-106.8%20-19.2,-172.4%20-19.2

For example:
http://www.gbif.org/occurrence/856790477
http://www.gbif-uat.org/occurrence/856790477

The species is the same, but CoL have moved Foraminifera to Chromista now, so thats a big change

There are nearly 3.2 million occurrences of Foraminiferida in the old portal which should now be all under Chromista:
http://www.gbif.org/species/389

Closing as this looks like a likely and valid cause

There are only 3 million Foraminifera now in UAT:

And as the taxon has changed its rank we have assigned a new identifier unfortunately
