      Description

The backbone contains the "same" canonical name twice, once as a hybrid name, once without. We should only use one version regardless if hybrid or not. Maybe it is even best to never use any hybrid names? As far as I understand the botanical code does make a difference

      Example Platanus hispanica:
      http://www.gbif.org/species/search?q=platanus+hispanica&dataset_key=d7dddbf4-2cf0-4f39-9b2a-bb099caae36c

      Platanus hispanica Mill. ex Münchh.
      Platanus hispanica Ten.
      Platanus x hispanica Mill. ex M¸nchh., 1770

Platanus hispanica var. pyramidalis Vigouroux ex Geerinck
Platanus ×hispanica var. pyramidata (Wesm.) Vigouroux ex Geerinck
