Description: Algaebase is part of catalogue of life, but as the CoL ignores infraspecific taxa mostly, we have no information about them.
For example Melosira arctica var. krembsii requested by users from the BGBM lately, does exist in Algaebase, but not in CoL:

Comment: I've had lengthy discussions with mike regarding publishing AlgaeBase as DwC-A via GBIF. He is amenable but was working to get his AlgaeBase Foundation established before he would proceed. In Oct 2011 he indicated this was 4-6 months away.

Request from Fernando Gomez to make use of his dinoflagellates checklist which is part of AlgaeBase.
Trying to revive the AlgaeBase publishing efforts through this.
