Description: just googled for those species and they appear to be well known European species.
Any of these sources worthwhile contacting?

Dear David,

maybe you can make out what might have happened with beetle names that seem to have disappeared completely on the GBIF portal. E.g., the following names that were present with hundreds of records in several datasets from European providers, and I'm sure they are still there, but I just cannot access them via the search form:
Bembidion femoratum
Bembidion lunatum
Bembidion dentellum

http://www.eurocarabidae.de (Ortwin Bleich) looks promising
and is making use of Wolfgang Lorenz checklist (version 2005) that he made publicly accessible together with his GBIF award report 2007-36
