Description: Hi,

I have noticed that some records from Herbario IEB del Instituto de Ecología, A.C., México (IE-BAJíO) (http://www.gbif.org/dataset/7a30c0d4-f762-11e1-a439-00145eb45e9a) show "depth" data when I think it should be "elevation", as they correspond to ocurrences of e.g. alpine plants at top of a mountain. Or am I misunderstanding something?

Hope it is of use,

Alicia

Valid issue: the publisher appears to have mapped values for "MinimumDepthInMeters" next to "MinimumElevationInMeters" for records that have no relation to any kind of water (where it would be meaningful to give both). It is not just a double mapping, though: often both values differ from one another, see http://www.gbif.org/occurrence/search?DATASET_KEY=7a30c0d4-f762-11e1-a439-00145eb45e9a&DEPTH=0%2C*, e.g. http://www.gbif.org/occurrence/235993872 --> http://www.gbif.org/occurrence/235993872/verbatim

Suggest: contact the data publisher and verify whether the mapping needs correction (possibly check indexing status first to exclude this is an old version)
