Description: Tried clicking on 'verbatim version' of species record via IUCN RedList and getting this error. This seems to be the case with other checklists as well.

We have lost most verbatim records in checklist bank since our indexing went live again. That is 13 million species records from most checklists have no verbatim version right now. The best solution would be to reindex them all!
For IUCN this is troublesome as their checklist dwc archive is not available since more than a year. So these records cannot be reindexed:

Comment: In fact the context of this feedback is that I am just about to talk to the chief scientist of IUCN and one of the issues I will raise is the need to update the Red List checklist in GBIF. A further topic will be the options for displaying the extinction risk status (VUN, END etc) which is why I was digging into the verbatim records which as I recall includes this information. I do not have a view on whether it is a priority to re-index checklists to retrieve verbatim records and will leave this to [~mdoering@gbif.org] to judge. Any developments on updating the Red LIst data following my discussions can be pursued on a separate track.

Comment: Ive made the portal show a verbatim data not existing page for non backbone usages missing a verbatim version. That page informs the user that a verbatim page will show up once we reindex the dataset: https://github.com/gbif/portal-web/commit/cef7d16af27656b2ae5355ce4d523fad216323bb

[~thirsch@gbif.org] in our current model a threat status can be given for a certain area as part of the distribution extension:
http://rs.gbif.org/extension/gbif/1.0/distribution.xml
The currently indexed version of IUCN does not include this information, only a presence/absence status.
For example here: http://api.gbif.org/v1/species/124791989/distributions
To expose a single, global threat status one could use the extension and set the area to global using locationID=woeid:1 and locality=Earth:
