Description: So far GBIF has ignored occurrences without at least some taxonomic classification. There are some datasets out there that do not provide any identification, but have location, collection & occurrence information. This is particularly true for paleontological collections where they often are more interested in stratigraphy and other geological "identifications.

Even though most publishers should at least be able to point to a kingdom I cannot see a reason why GBIF should ignore those records. Some might even have images attached that help others to identify the taxon.

I propose to include occurrence records lacking a scientfic name and any taxonomic classification into the GBIF index.]]>
