Summary: PANGEA fossil datasets with basis of observation as "human observation"
Description: I've noticed that PANGEA datasets such as http://www.gbif.org/dataset/02e39512-ccc8-4e30-aa5a-8e86b8952116 "(Table T1) Planktonic foraminifera stratigraphy of ODP Hole 198-1209C sediments" are recorded as being human observations. These are drill cores at the Cretaceous/Tertiary boundary, see http://dx.doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.788514 Is this really what we mean by "human observation"? Is this the same thing as a bird watcher taking a picture of a bird flying past?
