Description: In the current data portal, country names displayed in English are inconsistent with the current list of ISO country codes. This is potentially dangerous, as our "disclaimer currently tries to deflect any suspicion of political implications by saying that we do follow the ISO standard (3166) on country names.

Action required: in portal.country_name, update the English version of country names in country_name.name where they deviate from the name given at http://www.iso.org/iso/country_codes/iso_3166_code_lists/country_names_and_code_elements.htm:
- match on iso country codes
- where the locale is 'en' for the English names
- the searchable_name value does not need to be changed

To support this, it might be sufficient to go over the change track at http://www.iso.org/iso/home/standards/country_codes/updates_on_iso_3166.htm?show=tab2, unless a full update is easier and more repeatable in future.

The task is completed, but there are two country names I would like to highlight:

- PALESTINE, STATE OF was changed from PALESTINIAN TERRITORY, OCCUPIED in 2013
There could be some controversy surrounding this one.

- TAIWAN, PROVINCE OF CHINA is the ISO country name. From Wikipedia:

+Use in the UN and other instances:+

The term "Taiwan, Province of China" also appears in the International Organization for Standardization's ISO 3166-1 country codes because its information source, the publication UN Terminology Bulletin-Country Names, lists Taiwan as "Taiwan, Province of China" due to the PRC's political influence in the United Nations as a member of the UN Security Council.[16] Since the ISO 3166-1 code is a frequently used data source for computer programs and websites to pull a list of country names, "Taiwan, Province of China" is sometimes seen on pull-down menus instead of "Taiwan" due to this reason.

TAIWAN, PROVINCE OF CHINA has been reverted back to CHINESE TAIPEI and the Taiwanese issue is awaiting a decision from the executive level.
In this particular instance, in order to achieve a diplomatic compromise, we have gone outside the ISO 3166 standard that we adhere to in all other cases.
