Description: Document agreed service definitions for a data repository that supports long-term persistence of GBIF-mobilized data. These criteria need to consider data standards and protocols, but also the commitments required from a repository supplier.
*Rationale*
Repositories are to provide a location where datasets (zip-filed archives) can be uploaded. In a network of repositories, redundant copies with appropriate metadata ensure the possibility of disaster recovery.
*Required components*
*Note*
For the full implementation of a network of persistent data repositories, additional funding will be required. The first goal therefore is to package the goal appropriately ("get the story right") to allow the acquisition process to get started.]]>
