Summary: 500 error on occurrence search when not using auto complete
Description: When searching for something without using the auto-complete we get URLs like these http://www.gbif.org/occurrence/search?TAXON_KEY=foobar which lead to 500 errrors. I see these sometimes in the portal error logs and this happens very easily
