Description: Filtering by collection date is not intuitive at all.
When you are looking for a record from 1894, it is very annoying of not being allowed to type in the date. At first, you think "oh no, I'll have to click 200times on the not-visible-arrow" and then you discover, because you clicked by error next to the not-visible-arrow that you can browse by groups of 50years.

Comment: Agree this is real bad up to unusable. We need to allow entering a year at least and then also show the "invisible" arrows

Comment: Also the configure dropdown that allows to switch between year and year&month search takes quite some experience to discover

Comment: A input mask was added to the date inputs, the widget is still working but the user can enter a date directly.
