Description: Hi,

I have written about this before. After dealing about the problem with R. Hijmans, he showed me the problem might be with this record when trying to download records. Here is his answer:
"
I think this is the offending record:
http://data.gbif.org/ws/rest/occurrence/get/500956821
Firefox shows where the problem is (Chrome does not show anything; and
Internet Explorer is not helpful either).

There is an ETB (ASCII control code 23, "\027") character between '35'
and '28' in the original longitude and in the latitude description
(this is thus bad in more than one way).

I suppose I could check each file for inappropriate ASCII codes before
the XML parsing (where the error occurs); but this is really something
that GBIF should clean up; so you were right in contacting them first.

Best,
Robert
"

Despite i have been previously working on lizards, snakes, sharks and rays, I only found problems with parrots and there should be similar problems with several other species of parrots too.

The former data portal ws XML response is definitely broken.

The new portal page shows the locality: http://www.gbif.org/occurrence/500956821

The new portal ws JSON response is also fine: http://api.gbif.org/v0.9/occurrence/500956821

Closing as invalid.
