Comment: The node name must not be suppressed, as this is what is supposed to show up as the "endorsing node". For the other entries, if possible, I would suggest to handle this on the data side (registry) rather than in a special-case code handling. Explore whether a dummy entry like "not applicable" could be a viable solution.

Comment: Related: check the "node" does not turn up in the list at http://www.gbif.org/participation/list and similar places (it does not do so at present though)

I'm afraid this needs more than just registry data changes.
This needs a custom template from [~bko@gbif.org] where it really does just show meaningful information for that specific entity.

It should have an accurate, brief description that the PNMC is an endorsing entity used in the absence of a real GBIF participant to approve publishing institutions to share data on the GBIF network. The description should be written to target general public users, and should provide a link to a doc explaining more if applicable - it should not baffle normal people with GBIF jargon. It should provide probably have a contact email should someone wish to write and ask for more info - perhaps the chair of the committee is the appropriate entry, and / or the GBIF helpdesk?

Comment: Andrea's correction not to suppress 'node name' is agreed. I simply copied and pasted everything without checking keenly. I also agree with Tim's comment on additional info and material that should be made available. The document explaining more on the PNMC endorsement procedure is in the final stages of prep and will be made available in due course.

Reassigning to [~bko@gbif.org] - can we please address this in the week of the 23rd Feb Burke?
It will be relatively simple:
  IF datasetKey='...' THEN useCustomTemplateWithHardcodedData()

Coming to this late, I suggest a slightly amended text under 'About'

"The Participant Node Managers Committee [hyperlink to:http://www.gbif.org/governance/standingcommittees#nodes] may endorse an institution to publish data through the GBIF network. This procedure is used only in cases where the institution is in a country where no national GBIF node currently exists, and where the institution does not have connections with an existing thematic node. For advice on endorsing your institution to publish data, please contact the GBIF Helpdesk."

Once the full new procedure with online form etc is in place we can link through to a revised 'how to publish' page.
