Description: Donald:
I’m also not 100% sure how the Type specimens box is meant to work. If I go to the genus or species in this case, in both cases, I get this box with no text other than “SPECIMENS BY TYPE / type genus 1”. I would assume that somehow this means we have the type specimen for P. pentadactyla, but there is no way to link to it. The wording for the box is odd (it seems that there is confusion about what “type” means), and the fact that at the species level it is speaking of the type for the genus rather than for the species is also strange.]]>

Comment: In that example we have a family and for taxa above species level there are no type specimens, but rather a type genus or species name. So this is what shows here with a link to the species search across all checklists. The reason why there is also a type genus=1 count on the right although it is not showing on the left is a data issue underneath. Ill see if we can find those bad records in the UI and hide them so only the species shows up on this page

right hand side counts are removed and types records filtered in java now to only show sensible records.
