Description: Regarding http://www.gbif.org/dataset/05d46db0-71db-42c0-b5cb-b81120093f1d a paper has been published describing this database:

Mestre, A., Mesquita-Joanes, F., & Monrós, J. S. (2014). A review of the Entocytheridae (Ostracoda) of the world: updated bibliographic and species checklists and global georeferenced database, with insights into host specificity and latitudinal patterns of species richness. Crustaceana, 87(8-9), 923–951. http://dx.doi.org/10.1163/15685403-00003337

It also appears as a book chapter:

Mestre, A., Monrós, J. S., & Mesquita-Joanes, F. (n.d.). A review of the Entocytheridae (Ostracoda) of the world: updated bibliographic and species checklists and global georeferenced database, with insights into host specificity and latitudinal patterns of species richness. The Recent and Fossil Meet Kempf Database Ostracoda, 27–55. http://dx.doi.org/10.1163/9789004287600_004

The paper contains information on the database, how it was constructed, etc. It cites a URL to the original database, but presumably was published before it was added to GBIF and received a DOI (so we miss out on that link).

Would be nice if we had a way to add these additional citations to the dataset displayed in GBIF so users can get further information about the data.]]>

There isn't a general way to do so, but we keep track of the ones we know in Mendeley.
[~dnoesgaard] this sounds like something for you?

I looked at the paper and I can't find unambiguous information about a dataset in GBIF. For me to register the link, I would look for either a DOI, a link to a dataset page on gbif.org or a link to a dataset in an IPT. In this paper, I can't seem to find either?

It could be this one, https://www.gbif.org/dataset/cd74782f-2ba4-4e68-8029-a8737978ef18, but that's one's been deleted.
