In the Directory, Papua New Guinea Participation Status is set as "Former" and Type "Other".
The Registry in now automatically synchronized with the data in the Directory.
If the data is incorrect (which I suspect), it requires to be fixed in the Directory.

Comment: Has this already been fixed? Seems to show up correctly on the country page. For the sake of any doubt, PNG is not and never has been a GBIF Participant

Comment: Sorry I realise now that there is a node identity at http://www.gbif.org/node/ee0889fc-24be-4449-a2cf-a6dd033a0b1b which indeed seems to be a directory error. What is odd is that it seems to have successfully endorsed a publisher, although there is no data associated and it seems to bear no relation to the country! [~anmnielsen] could just confirm that there was never any membership from Papua New Guinea.

There are not many participants and the Directory is the authority. I would recommend someone go through and review all Participant entries in the Directory and confirm they are correct.

For your information Papua New Guinea was an Associate Country Participant in the period August 2001 - December 2006.

Comment: Ah! Then I stand corrected. Shows the advantage of having collective memory. However by the sound of it the directory entry is showing it as a former organizational participant (i.e. 'other') rather than a former associate country, which I guess is why it does not match up with the country page.
