Description: Hi, it would be nce if it was possible to filter data not only for collector but also for e.g. "recorded by so that it became possible to also filter observations by who made the observation.

Thanks Isabel, filtering by collector is actually filtering information captured in dwc:recordedBy.

For example: http://www.gbif.org/occurrence/search?COUNTRY=MG&RECORDED_BY=Perrier%20de%20la%20B%C3%A2thie,%20H.&DATASET_KEY=b5cdf794-8fa4-4a85-8b26-755d087bf531

For an individual record such as:

http://www.gbif.org/occurrence/438299825/verbatim

You'll see recordedBy = Perrier de la Bâthie, H.

This collector filter has difficulty working if the name of the collector isn't spelled exactly as it was entered (see issue POR-1594 and PF-2112). There are also some encoding difficulties too (see PF-2113).

To work around these issues you can try a full text search, e.g.:

http://www.gbif.org/occurrence/search?q=d%C3%B6ring

The free-text search would of course work for other fields such as rightsHolder.
