Fuzzy taxon name match not flagged as fuzzy

Reporter: rdmpage
Type: Bug
Summary: Fuzzy taxon name match not flagged as fuzzy
Priority: Minor
Status: Open

Description: The occurrence has the verbatim record:

(note tha ALLCAPS). So, the actual name is _Pandion lovensis_, which GBIF doesn't have (but see ), so it's matched to _Pandion_.

Hence I'd expect a "fuzzy match" issue to be flagged for this occurrence, but it's not. Any ideas why?

Comment: Indeed strange. It should not be flagged as fuzzy, but the issue TAXON_MATCH_HIGHERRANK should have been raised!

Comment: [] I think it's a bit more serious than that, see linked issue Even if GBIF has the name it is not being matched, hence the Florida dataset linked to is full of inadequately matched names.
