Summary: As a user, I would like to narrow my geographic search by zooming into a map in several stages, so that I can accurately define the area I am interested in
Description: source: Lotte E., DanBIF (9.5.12). From experiences with the current portal, while it is nice to be able to define the area of interest graphically by setting a bounding box, this does not really work for small areas, as the map provides global coverage and it is not possible to zoom in and further confine the bounding box in a second stage. The alternative of providing min/max lat/long is cumbersome. The most intuitive way would be to first select a rough area, see it enlarged, and then refine.

Comment: Users can zoom in on a dataset map, or a taxon map, and the link on the right saying "view records: in visible area" will take you to an occurrence search with the correct bounding box applied. Note that bugs in the occurrence search actually stop this being demonstrable, but they are being addressed separately.
