Description: Original request by GBIF Spain, asking to add sub-country-level political entities to data portal search filters (around 2009). Application example: getting a phone call by the fire department, asking for the relative importance of biodiversity in a couple of wildfire areas requires getting a more regional overview fast.

Requires:
- standardised catalogs of province names (to be supplied by countries?) for search access, consistent use in data publishing, lookup services of gazetteers to map data only giving coordinates]]>
