The species' academic reference section is divided into two parts left and right. From what I understand:
Left should display the reference for the type specimen description.
Right displays a short list of associated bibliographic references. There exists a link out to the full list.
In the Literature References extension (http://rs.gbif.org/extension/gbif/1.0/references.xml) there is a type with a set vocabulary (http://rs.gbif.org/vocabulary/gbif/reference_type.xml). We could say that for the Left, use type=original and for Right use type=publication
Are there any example checklists to date that has a complete references extension filled out? Is it realistic to try and fill the Portal pages according to the above Left/Right policy?
