Not sure about this one. We use "taxon" or "taxa" in multiple places across pages, and need to stay consistent, need to discuss with Dave. Should be "parent taxon" singular, though.

The point is not so much on group versus taxon, but that parent could be seen as the immediate parent or just not understood. At least us developers didn't seem to get the idea at all.

Ok, got it. To still stay consistent with other uses of taxon/taxa, how about "higher taxon", then?

btw, how/where do we apply changes once we agreed on sth?
Do we only need to change the svn trunk or also the static pages?

I’m open to suggestion, but I’d say only change in svn, but change both the “wireframe” branch as well as trunk.

From yesterday's talk with Oliver, I had assumed that for settled issues, I would create entries under https://gbif.basecamphq.com/projects/7935093-portal/todo_lists/16380672 "Portal changes" to-do list, which would then be picked up once the implementation of a specific page is handled in a sprint.

This is a separate issue from the start of the thread, so to wrap up both:
- We will rename the link to "higher taxon" instead of "parent taxon" (will generate entry in "Portal changes" to-do list)
- In the web page versions, we agreed in the sprint review of the milestone 2 sprint to
a) _not_ update the html static (http://portal-static.gbif.org/themes/index.html)
b) update both the branch (static: http://staging.gbif.org:8080/portal-web/) and the trunk (dynamic) of the java version
