Hello, I was curious if you could support giving >1 value per a single parameter, e.g., like (2) instead of (1) below
(1) ...?scientificname=a&scientificname=b
(2) ...?scientificname=a,b
This would allow shorter URLs, but as you have said, will require an extra parsing step, and the commas can potentially be a problem.
I don't feel strongly about this, but might be a bit easier for complex queries.

Comment: Hi Scott, as you rightly said this will become more complex in queries that might contain commas, for example scientific in name authorships or locations. Also http by default already has a standard way of giving mulit value parameters and making use of it is much simpler and safer as all libraries for http/urls usually can deal with it out of the box.
