Comment: this appears to be a long known FireFox bug: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1142314/css-rendering-inconsistency-on-ul-with-firefox-being-the-odd-ball-out

using http://rafael.adm.br/css_browser_selector/
for a conditional firefox css

Comment: Sorry but the issue is back. While attempting to make use of the portal CSS/JS (instead of the local copy) I discovered that the old combo of CSS/JS did a better job at fixing the problem.

I can confirm the problem still exists in Opera.
But, I am glad to say that I no longer see the problem in Firefox. At least for my version 23.0.1

If it works for the GOF (FF, Chrome, Safari, IE) then I strongly suggest "WontFix"! :-| Opera is in the process of switching rendering engines

plus, have a look at their market share:
http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp
From 2.4 in 2012 to 1.6?

We need to define a clear set of browsers and versions that the portal must support all over. Ive made an issue for this, I link it. Feel free to comment:
http://dev.gbif.org/issues/browse/POR-664
Author: mdoering@gbif.org
Comment: FF 17 for example has a market share of 0.8% - not necessarily needed if its complicating matters a lot

Comment: [~mdoering@gbif.org] and [~cvizitiu@gbif.org], since Opera is the only browser where the bullet points don't work, and Opera is not on the list of supported browsers here ( PF-639 ), can we close this issue now?

Comment: Like I said already, I have nothing against "won't fix".

See the following page (on Firefox), specifically the methodology section http://www.gbif.org/dataset/95e635d4-f762-11e1-a439-00145eb45e9a
I'll attach a screenshot also.
Thanks to [~jlegind@gbif.org] for the find.
