Understanding that images can disappear at any time, suggest doing AJAX and verifying image is present and if so, append the  tag]]>

Comment: will look into this, but its a bit more tricky as we use the images in a javascript created image gallery. We probably need to check for existance in there too

Comment: The page at http://portaldev.gbif.org/species/3134959 doesn't look bad - first image loads fine and all good, only in image gallery if you try for image two (click right arrow) does it sit and spin forever. Downgrading to Major.
