This links to other issues around restoring OCR searches, filters and navigation. How to display documents and information about past events? Send to saved search, or enter one by one? Needs to be consistent with other areas of the portal. This should echo the layout decision for http://www.gbif.org/governance/governingboard#meetings]]>

Another potential solution:
To display upcoming regional activities, we could modify our existing Events page ( http://www.gbif.org/newsroom/events ) so that there are filters for regional activities for each region.
Same thing for past events, whereby we could modify http://www.gbif.org/newsroom/archive/allevents

Comment: Using available filters is a good idea in general; where possible they should be integrated into regional pages. Please note the different focus here though: the objective is not so much to allow someone who knows about regional Nodes to be able to search for details, but to give the regions a very visible spot to inform others concisely of their existence, their membership, their activities etc. This is something we need to specify in more detail together with [~mraymond] before making design decisions.

Comment: This seems to be implemented in Drupal. Once the requirement is there we can put it into pipeline.
