Description: After the latest web style update, in the resources section the 'alternative title' is ALWAYS displayed below the main title of the resource. This field should only be displayed when the contents of the two fields are different. If they are identical (as it is the case in most of our resources), the alternative title should not be displayed.

Alternative titles are used, for example, to store an English version of the title in resources described in the original language they are written into, as in:

http://www.gbif.org/resources/2509

In its original concept, it could also contain a summarised version of the title of the resource if the original title was too long. I am not sure if there is any of these cases in the database.

An alternative could be to empty the field in the database for those cases where the two fields are identical, if that makes more sense. But we will need to alert anyone entering info into the database to make sure they follow the new rule.
