Description: Foot-and-mouth disease virus is a species in the GBIF Backbone:
http://www.gbif.org/species/6876902
Using the Species match service (e.g. /species/match) it should be possible to match this species, specifying the kingdom and name for example:
http://api.gbif.org/v1/species/match?kingdom=viruses&name=Foot-and-mouth%20disease%20virus
The same goes for Banana bunchy top virus http://www.gbif.org/species/6875716
http://api.gbif.org/v1/species/match?kingdom=viruses&name=Banana%20bunchy%20top%20virus
Unfortunately, these only matches the kingdom, not the species as you would expect.
