Description: When importing Index Fungorum with a denormalized classification containing "Incertae Sedis entries more than 50k records end up without a parent.
For example:
Omphalia luffii Massee

Finally found the cause. It happens when the genus itself is declared a synonym of another genus, but there are species within the genus left as accepted names with the synonym genus name.
For example the genus Zignoëlla Sacc. is a declared synonym of the genus Chaetosphaeria Tul. & C. Tul., but there are hundreds of species still being accepted with the genus name Zignoëlla, for example Zignoëlla boreella P.Karst.
The quick solution to this problem is to remove the deformed genus classification and link all species only to their family. This is much better for a nomenclatoral database (IPNI does the same) and keeps the higher classification at least, avoiding the hundreds of misplaced fungi genera in our current nub!
