Description: Data publishers who understand a little about our systems would benefit from having the ability to see the state of the systems. I propose we surface a really simple interface which shows if the key pieces are running, and perhaps the number of datasets enqueued for occurrence and checklists.

We could consider surfacing the # records backed up (possibly broken down to metrics, maps, interpretations. Similarly we could show the records per second being processed, but that might surface that we are often idle.

This would help the likes of VertNet understand if data should be shown on the portal or not.

We could similarly surface the number of running and enqueued downloads.

The interface is intended for the general public so should be just a simple easy to understand view.]]>
