Description: There are quite a lot of records showing on the map of Ireland (IE) that are located in Northern Ireland (part of GB), see http://www.gbif.org/country/IE/about. This is factually wrong, and needs to be corrected.
The indexing workflow workings on this are not completely transparent to me: the records give coordinates in Northern Ireland, (mis)stating a country of "Ireland". The geo-service returns GB for the coordinates. Flagging says that the "country was derived from the coordinates". Expected would be: coordinates not showing on the map; flagging stating mismatch of coordinates and country
Example:
http://www.gbif.org/occurrence/297637730
verbatim: country=Ireland; coordinates are supplied
interpreted: interpretation issue: "country derived from coordinates". Locality: Europe > Ireland; map point clearly in Northern Ireland
reverse geocode API: http://api.gbif.org/v1/geocode/reverse?lat=54.73004&lng=-7.12677 -> [{"id":"82","type":"Political","source":"http://www.naturalearthdata.com","title":"United Kingdom","isoCountryCode2Digit":"GB"}]
