Description: Hello,
I downloaded a large set of data in the "simple csv" format from multiple publishers. How do I know what license applies to the data? I did not see any column in the CSV that denotes the license information. Do I need to look up the license information for each publisher's data set?
Thank You,
Athe

Comment: [~ahahn@gbif.org] currently we do not provide a rights.txt file in the CSV downloads. Can you please reply the Athe and advise him/her how to respect the licenses and rights statements in lieu of GBIF assigning licenses to all datasets? The information in your answer would be good supplementary information to include in the [Data Use FAQ|http://www.gbif.org/faq/data-use] also. Thanks.

Thanks [~ahahn@gbif.org].
[~kylecopas] - shall we add Andrea's answer to the [Data Use FAQ|http://www.gbif.org/faq/data-use]?

A definite maybe—provided we can abstract it into a less direct-address, more general-purpose response, and also get it updated when the promised cut-over takes place.
You want to take on that bit of editing, or shall I?
Thanks for flagging.

Comment: No problem. Sounds like you have something in mind already. I'm happy to help revise of course.
