Description: When a new organisation is registered, this triggers an endorsement procedure where the Node Manager is asked for their endorsement of the new registration under their domain.

If registrations should move from manual ("request endorsement" button in registry UI) to semi-automatic (automatic insertion from a "registerme" type page, after human confirmation), the endorsement may be triggered on insertion of the record.

--> endorsement request email to Node Manager: notification of a new entry under their domain. Request for confirmation / refusal / ask for more information if not sure

Once the endorsement email is sent to the Node Manager, the node manager should be able to click a link and confirm or refuse the endorsement, without having to reply YES or NO. In the third case (requesting further information), email interaction must be possible (no system reply address going into void)

--> monitoring: if an endorsement request has not received any kind of reaction in x amount of time, it needs to be escalated to a level that the registry admin can spot it and follow up (add to messaging specification for notification sending or helpdesk interaction options)

Comment: [~jlegind@gbif.org] would you like to automate the endorsement response, as per the suggestion in this issue? Otherwise, I'll close this. Thanks

Firing off a pre made email to the node manager would be great, provided that the launch is manual step with a 'Are you sure about that' prompt before anything goes out.
I am not crazy about the link in the outgoing mail that does the confirmation/endorsement step as people might press it without being fully aware of what they are doing. I would prefer that the node manager reply in a proper email, as it allows for comments to the endorsement.

I think there is good evidence that users read their email in a variety of way, such as:

Read a few lines, then click on link...

Read everything before clicking on link.

Click on link before reading anything :-0

It would be prudent to 'force' node managers to read and reply.
