Type: Story
Summary: As a registry console user, I want easy visual feedback which data are handled in automatic synchronisations, so that I do not do manual edits and then lose them
Description: relates to business rules for updating metadata. Need to ensure that there is no situation where manual edits collide with automatic updates (field locking, visual feedback / shading, overruling where necessary)
Priority: Major
Status: Open

Unless the dataset "is locked for auto updating", the Registry Console admin can anticipate that their changes will be overwritten by a metadata update. Of course that excludes advanced fields, such as the owning organization.

[~jlegind@gbif.org] do you think it would be helpful, to have a filter for all datasets that are currently locked for auto updating? If not, and if [~ahahn@gbif.org] doesn't disagree, I'll close this user story.

Comment: I actually think this filter would have its uses. And if it was to be implemented it would save time writing postgres queries.
