Take a look at the contact.
The first and last name are the same.
Digir gives only "name" as you can see from here: http://digir.ansp.org/digir/DiGIR.php
I would recommend only writing this information into First Name, unless you have some very clever way of parsing it. ]]>

Comment: I don't know what the implications of this are but I suggest (everytime a name is involved) just dropping the first and last name concept and just store everything in a single "name" field: http://www.kalzumeus.com/2010/06/17/falsehoods-programmers-believe-about-names/

Comment: Migrations scripts were migrating names incorrectly from the portal db, portal_agent.name was being copied to contact.name AND contact.last_name
