Description: Networks (OBIS, HerpNet,..., but also "resources hosted by ) and their connections to datasets are presently only represented in the index database (resource_network, network_membership). Having been added to the dataset-aware registry, the content of these tables now will have to migrated to the registry, maintained there, and consequently synchronised into the db tables by the HIT.
The "resources hosted by" agent should be auto-generated on first registration of a dataset under a country node.]]>

Migrations scripts are not using at all the following tables: resource_country, resource_network and network_membership. Should we create relations for entities in those tables? or, are those tables used for statistics only?. In case we have to process them in some way, i have several questions:
 1. resource_country: should be interpreted as, Country "OWNS" Dataset? (OWNS is the only relation that fits here.)
 2. network_membership: should be interpreted as, Country "OWNS" Dataset?
 3. resource_network: should we create those networks in the registry?

The relations types we have in this moment are: ENDORSES, OWNS, SERVES,HAS_INSTALLATION and HAS_CONSTITUENT; so, probably we need a new relation type for those elements.

I think in an earlier discussion we decided to migrate them manually, as there are not that many, so that they would not need to be processed. In the current portal, the tables are used at
- http://data.gbif.org/countries/IL: resource_country = dataset contributes to information _about_ country - generated at rollover, not a registry issue
- http://data.gbif.org/datasets/browse/R: resource_network and network_membership (1) = resources "hosted by" (actually: dataset's publisher ENDORSED by) country
- http://data.gbif.org/datasets/browse/O: resource_network and network_membership (2) = data network HAS_CONSTITUENT dataset

The third one is the one we want to model in the registry, where the network is not a country, but a thematic bracket (like VertNet: only some datasets of a number of publishers world-wide belong to it). The second one was a stop-gap solution to be able to show a country's contribution. This table is calculated at rollover, so that the data are still available. It does not need to be translated into the registry.

Talk to Andrea what is the state. Appears to be a dynamic query to ask for datasets owned by orgs from one Node?

Consider adding a method to list all datasets for a node and similar for other registry network entities

a) countries are solved via Nodes and will not become explicit networks on the registry
b) special interest networks like VertNet should be registered and have has_consituents relations to either orgs or datasets. In case of orgs all owned datasets are expected to participate in the network
