Description: Dear reader,

My name is Wilfred Gerritsen. I work as an information analyst for Naturalis Biodiversity Center in the Netherlands. I tried to use the DwCA Assistant to create a meta.xml file with Occurence core data. Issues occurred while doing this.

I'm not able to create a proper xml for this case.
DwCA assistant throws immediately an error when started.

No problem here because a click on OK leads to the main screen.

When i try to create the core data Occurrence meta.xml things start to go wrong.

When i click the occurrence map not all occurrence fields are shown at least not always.
Sometimes i see the full DwC set. sometimes i don't. Why? I don't know.

If i see the full field range in the occurrence map and tick some boxes the taxon panel stays visible and the occurrence panel appears. The meta.xml is not updated though so no occurrence entries are made.

Is this a familiar problem? Has this something to do with the initial error as far as you know?
Could please help me with this issue?

kind regards,

Wilfred Gerritsen
Information analyst

The initial error message is fixed, it was due to some extensions not having a dc:subject, and the tool not coping with this.

[~hoefft], would you be able to do a quick test in IE?

http://tools.gbif.org/dwca-assistant/ and click "Occurrences" and try clicking some of the terms. The main view should fill up with what you click.
